Level Two Focusing Class
In-person Level Two Focusing Class
Dates: Sundays, February 2-March 2, 2025 from 9:30a-12:30p
Location: Portal, 1320 Old Oxford Rd, Suite 7, Durham, NC
Taught by Meg Stein
Focusing is a mind-body practice that connects you to your own natural ability to heal and move through difficulty. It deepens your connection with your own aliveness. It helps you move through big emotions, stuck feelings, and difficulties in your life with authenticity and self-compassion. Focusing can also be an invaluable way to help you see and understand more of how you actually feel about something in your life. It is an emergent process that helps you explore the edge of your current understanding.
This five-week Level Two class will teach participants more advanced fundamentals of Inner-Relationship Focusing and will hone skills needed to continue practicing Focusing with a partner. (This class is the second of four levels. Generally speaking, after Level Two participants have enough information to create a sustainable Focusing practice with a partner who also knows how to Focus.)
Each week participants will deepen their understanding of Focusing skills and will practice with a partner in the class. Outside of class requirements include a weekly partnering session with someone in the class (in person or over zoom) and some reading from the manual.
Participants should plan to attend all five classes.
Cost: Sliding scale from $200-$400 for the series. Please select the rate that works best for you. The middle rates are considered "full cost" with the lowest rate being supplemented by those who can pay the highest rate. Alive and Aware Practice accepts HSA cards (see more below).
Payment plans are also available. To set up a payment plan, register using the $80 deposit + $20 manual option and then email meg@aliveandawarepractice.com to coordinate the rest. Note that you need to email me and set up a payment plan schedule before the class begins. And you'll need to be paid in full by the time the class is over.
For those who have already taken a Level Two class and want to take this for a refresher, please email me for a discount code to use for 25% off.
Deadline to register is January 24, 2025. This class will be limited to 8 participants.
Pre-requisites: A Level One Inner-Relationship Focusing class
Covid Considerations: This class is in-person and indoors. The hope is that we can all be unmasked. The reason is that facial expressions are an important part of connecting through Focusing. In the registration form I will ask you to answer a few questions about your comfort level with this.
