Level Three Focusing Class

from $100.00

Level Three Focusing Class
Dates: Sundays, April 20-May 18 from 9:30a-12:30p each week
Location: In-person at PORTAL, 1320 Old Oxford Rd, Suite 7 in Durham
Taught by Meg Stein

Focusing is an embodied mindfulness practice that connects you to your own natural ability to heal, move through difficulty and connect with aliveness. It can help you process big emotions and stuck feelings with authenticity and self-compassion. Focusing can also be an invaluable way to help you learn more about an unclear area of your life. It is an emergent process that helps you explore the edge of your current understanding. You can learn more about the many benefits of Focusing here.

In this five-week, in-person class participants will

  • refine their understanding of staying in Presence

  • learn more about the tendency towards bias (liking one part better than another, exiling one while merging with another)

  • hone skills for dis-identifying while staying with and being with parts

  • strengthen their understanding of how inner managers work

  • practice more about how to trust presence and awareness

  • deepen companioning skills

  • begin learning how companions can offer their focusers suggestions as part of the companioning process.

Outside of class requirements include a weekly partnering session with someone in the class (in person or over zoom) and some reading from the manual.

Participants should plan to attend all five classes.

Cost: Sliding scale from $200-$400 for the series + $20 for a new, Part Two manual. Please select the rate that works best for you. The middle rates are considered "full cost" with the lowest rate being supplemented by those who can pay the highest rate. Alive and Aware Practice accepts HSA cards (see more below).

Payment plans are also available. To set up a payment plan, register using the $80 deposit + $20 manual option and then email meg@aliveandawarepractice.com to coordinate the rest. Note that you need to email me and set up a payment plan schedule before the class begins. And you'll need to be paid in full by the time the class is over.

This class will be limited to 4-6 participants.

Pre-requisites: Levels One and Two classes.

Masking Considerations: This class is in-person and indoors. The hope is that we can all be unmasked. The reason is that facial expressions are an important part of connecting through Focusing. In the registration form I will ask you to answer a few questions about your comfort level with this.
