Inner-Relationship Focusing Class
Dates: Mondays, June 22- July 13, 2026
from 6-9p each week
Location: In-person at Practice Space, 2200 Dominion St. Unit H in Durham

This month-long class teaches participants how to practice Inner-Relationship Focusing (IRF), an evidence-based, mind-body method for emotional healing that fosters self-compassion, reduces anxiety, and offers many other benefits.

Participants learn how to listen differently to inner experience, especially what is not yet clear or emerging. The class teaches how to practice in daily life and with other people.

Each week participants will learn new Focusing skills and will practice with a partner in the class. Outside of class requirements include a weekly partnering session with someone in the class (in person or over zoom) and some reading from the manual.

Participants should plan to attend all four classes.

Cost: Sliding scale from $200-$400 for the series + $20 for the manual. Please select the rate that works best for you. The middle rates are considered "full cost" with the lowest rate being supplemented by those who can pay the highest rate. Alive and Aware Practice accepts HSA cards (see more below).

Payment plans are also available. To set up a payment plan, register using the $80 deposit + $20 manual option and then email meg@aliveandawarepractice.com to coordinate the rest. Note that you need to email me and set up a payment plan schedule before the class begins. And you'll need to be paid in full by the time the class is over.

For those who have already taken a Level One class and want to take this for a refresher, please email me for a discount code to use for 25% off.

Pre-requisites: An individual Guided Focusing Session. If you have already done a Guided Focusing Session at some point with Meg or someone else, then you’re all set. If you have never done a Guided Focusing Session then you’ll need to set one up with Meg before the class begins. The reason is because experiencing a Guided Focusing Session helps give people a sense of where the class is headed and is an important part of learning how to Focus with a partner. (Please note that the cost of this session is not included in the cost of the class, but I do offer registered students a discount.)

Masking Policy: This class is in-person and indoors. The hope is that we can all be unmasked. The reason is that facial expressions are an important part of connecting through Focusing. In the registration form I will ask you to answer a few questions about your comfort level with this.

Cancellation Policy

Up to 14 days before the first day of class: Just email me, and I’ll refund your course fee. Or you can choose to apply the entire course fee towards either a future class with Alive and Aware practice or Guided Focusing Sessions with Meg.

Cancellations received 13 days or fewer before class begins: No refund, sorry. Thank you for your understanding.

Paying with an HSA card: Alive and Aware Practice accepts HSA cards. As a mental healthcare provider, Alive and Aware Practice offers services that may be covered by many Health Savings Accounts. Some HSAs require you to have a medical note to confirm that mental healthcare services are being used to treat a diagnosed medical condition. If you are unsure what your HSA covers, contact your HSA provider and ask if your HSA covers group therapy services.If you would like a different receipt specifically for your HSA records, please email me.
